Amanda Cowen
Amanda Cowen is an Associate Professor of Commerce and the William Stamps Farish Professor of Free Enterprise at the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce. Her research interests center on how social dynamics shape judgment and action in organizational contexts. She studies how factors such as status, power, and social capital influence outcomes and decisions, particularly in the domain of corporate governance. Before pursuing an academic career, she worked as a Marketing Manager at Time Inc. in New York City.
